sorting bookmarksOne of the things missing from Firefox is the ability to sort bookmarks. There is was an excellent extension written by a guy named Torisugari called, simply enough, Sort Bookmarks. Unfortunately, it only worked with early versions of Firefox. While there is a manual hack that can be done to circumvent the version limitation, it's a pain to get right and certainly not a walk through the park.

We've taken the manual version hack (trivial) to allow this extension to run on Firefox 1.5 - 2.0.0.* and, of more interest, we've incorporated the addition of a Sort Bookmarks Preferences item directly under the Firefox Tools menu. The majority of the underlying JavaScript code remains the same and the extension works as reliably as it did previously. In short, this modified version of Sort Bookmarks is simply an interface and version tweak.

Note for Firefox 3: This extension is incompatible with Firefox 3. We recommend using the Google Toolbar for Firefox 3 instead.
